Our horticulture programs are taught by the industry, for the industry. Our highly experienced trainers will help you kick start your career in one of the fastest growing industries in Australia. You will study a range of topics such as how to improve plant growth, yields, quality, nutritional value and resistance to insects, diseases, and environmental stresses. As a Horticulturist, you will use your knowledge and skills gained at Wakefield to grow plants for human food and non-food uses and for personal or social needs.

This qualification allows individuals to develop post-trade skills and knowledge across a broad coverage of the horticulture industry prior to undertaking higher-level roles in the workplace. The course is designed to be delivered flexibly with predominantly workplace-based projects to suit the needs of individuals and their work schedules in the horticultural industry.

This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in amenity horticulture. It provides a broad skill and knowledge base, and builds on skills and knowledge gained from Certificate II in Horticulture or the workplace. It may be appropriate for current or previous horticultural employees who wish to have their skills and knowledge formally recognised.
